Slemani — Shniyar Anwar, a member of the Kurdistan Region parliament, praised the KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani for hosting the Delphi Economic Forum in Slemani for a second consecutive year, saying the event has elevated the city’s international profile and placed it alongside major global destinations that host the forum.
In a post on Facebook, Anwar described the Delphi platform as a prominent international forum with activities and events in countries including Greece, the United States, and Canada.
“Long live Mr. Qubad for the city of life,” Anwar wrote, referring to Slemani. He added that bringing the Delphi Forum to the city had raised its standing to the level of major international cities such as Washington, Toronto and Delphi.
The comments came as Slemani hosted the Delphi Economic Forum for the second year in a row, drawing local and international participants for discussions on economic development, governance, regional cooperation, and investment opportunities.
Supporters of the initiative say hosting the forum has helped strengthen Slemani’s position as a regional hub for dialogue and policymaking, while also providing an opportunity to showcase the Kurdistan Region to international policymakers, business leaders, and experts.
The Delphi Forum, which originated in Greece, has expanded its activities internationally in recent years and is regarded as a platform for discussions on global and regional political, economic, and social issues.
